Privacy policy

This privacy policy covers both the Content Checker website at contentchecker.uk and the Content Checker app for iOS and macOS.

What we collect

Content Checker does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data — whether you use the website or the app.

The website maintains anonymous, aggregate usage counters (such as total checks run and commonly triggered rules) to help us improve the service. These counters contain no personal or identifiable information — no session data or user agents are recorded by the application itself.

Your content

On the website: when you check your content, the text is sent to the server for processing and immediately discarded. Nothing is stored, logged, or saved on the server. No database is used. No files are written. Your content exists only in memory for the fraction of a second it takes to check it, then it is gone.

In the app: all checking happens entirely on your device. Your content never leaves your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Nothing is sent to any server.

Settings

On the website: your preference for including department-specific rules is saved in your browser's local storage only. This data never leaves your device.

In the app: your settings are stored locally on your device using standard app storage. They are not transmitted anywhere.

Cookies

The Content Checker website does not use cookies. The app does not use cookies.

Analytics

Content Checker does not use any client-side analytics or tracking scripts, on the website or in the app. We do not use cookies, pixels, fingerprinting, or any third-party analytics services.

Like all web servers, our hosting provider automatically generates standard access logs which may include IP addresses, timestamps, and browser information. These logs are used solely for server maintenance, security monitoring, and aggregated traffic statistics. They are not linked to any individual user, not shared with any third party, and are automatically deleted on a rolling basis.

Third parties

Content Checker does not share data with any third parties, because there is no data to share. The app does not include any third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or advertising libraries.
